If you're going to check out the UC universe Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam is the very original that starts the story. Zeta comes after MSG. Then the very next series can either be Gundam ZZ or the movie Char's Counterattack, because that ends the long story of MSG and Zeta. Zeta has cameos of characters from MSG, but it explains pretty well for it so you could watch it, and I THINK YOU SHOULD.
