“Ichigo, what is ‘Christmas’? Do people actually celebrate it?” He sighed- there went his peaceful afternoon.

“It’s this marketing scheme from the stores to get people to buy loads of crap every year.” He could feel, sense her look at him with disbelief. “It’s some holiday from another religion, but mostly no one is actually Christian. People just like to spend their money for family or whatever.”  He explained.

“…Would lovers also count?”  His eye twitched in irritation. What was the midget thinking exactly…?

“Yeah, so what?” I turned to see her holding up a magazine, on a page of a Christmas advertisement with a couple under a mistletoe.

“It looks… romantic.” She stared at the magazine in awe, and Ichigo wondered if there was a shimmer of nostalgia.

“Che, you’d think I would get something for you? You’re sadly mistaken if you think I’m going to spend money and get you a gift now, so leave me alone.” He went back to his book, leaving her glaring at him. She looked back down at the magazine and continued on leafing through the pages.

It made him chuckle silently, knowing what was lying in the bottom of his drawer. The small wrapped package had been there for no more than a couple of weeks, when he had seen it passing by the window of the store. He only said he wouldn’t buy her something now.

She continued flipping through the boring articles. No matter what he said, she was going to get him something anyway- a Chappy shirt might be nice and cheap.

And if he actually did get her something, she’ll give him a second present.
