The industry has now decided to do something about all the online manga readers out there on the internet, "stealing all their money away". Now, top sites have been asked to shut down. Onemanga.com is going to soon be gone. D:
I made sure I got a list of all the manga I've read there, so I can search for the titles by myself now.

But really, it's ridiculous. I hate the publishing in the US, it can be terrible. I support Bleach, but I can't stand the English volumes by VIZ- bad translations, edits of the ARTWORK, and slow as hell.
I've had Bleach volume 30 for over a year now, but the volume just came out this Spring. How? I bought the volume in Germany. It takes a year for the volume to actually come out of English since the German- why? Not to mention how late it is compared to it's release of new volumes in Japan.
Last time I checked, we're 10 volumes behind. Can't be right up there to snag the recent volume to translate from Japan, but to be 10 volumes behind?
Got another volume of Bleach from Germany half a year ago. Volume 36. Still ahead from the US releases.

What about all the obscure shoujo I read?! I've really wanted Cat Street to be licensed in the US so bad, but for a series that ended in 2007, and still not here, how much of a chance is there? I can't support the publishers if it's not AVAILABLE FOR ME TO PURCHASE MYSELF.

And no, I refuse to buy Shounen Monthly Jump here. It's a waste of money, and the feeling that I wait a whole month for the next chapter people have already read 3 weeks ago and 3 chapters ahead is not a pleasant one, since I'm not ignorant of what publishers are doing.

*Sigh* On to something else...

 

Why is it that, if every comment people have on the debate over typing Sweden's accent is negative, why do people still do it? It's a fanon-thing that when you talk like Sweden, you truncate the words, taking out vowels.
Quite a few Hetalia fans, in general, like to take it further.
As in, taking out every vowel in every word Sweden says, making it near-impossible(or actually impossible, I've seen it before) to read and understand a word.
I just hate it -when they do it a little too much, and I can't make out what the word is after 3 times rereading it. A lot of the other characters have accents, too, but barely anyone ever tries to express their accents too distinctively. Poor Sweden has to suffer from it. 
I do it a little, I admit- but next time, NEXT TIME- I will write something with Sweden in it and there will be no missing vowels- except if the word calls to be shortened because the accent really does that.
You can still tell a Southern accent in books because of the colloquialism, but when people try to write foreign accents in English- how much sense does that make? 
I mean, you change the words to how they would sound in a heavy foreign acccent?

I'm so happy for Onenote, it helps keep me organized and it's a great place to hold my list of manga to continue reading.
Anyways, I have a head ache, I'm going to sleep now. I almost fell asleep while watching Star Trek- actually, I closed my eyes after awhile so it became listening to Star Trek- the episode was crazy.
Incredibly crazy.

I really hate the whole scanlations thing too. I follow Reborn and Naruto, and the English manga volumes are, well, volumes behind. I like my weekly flail fest and I like being current, and this makes me dislike Viz even more than I already do. (Which is, you know, a lot.) I also feel like it's taking away from the smaller, less known mangas, which are not published and wouldn't get the attention they do because of scanlation sites. Here's to hoping it doesn't last!

URG, I'M WITH YOU ON THIS SWEDEN NONSENSE. I do like a little truncation, because I don't feel like I'm reading Sweden. But that's " 'm not ready" and "'m nt rdy". Also, I really hate when people are snobs about that, because if we wanted to 100% accurate on everything, we'd have to write in their national language. (And yes, I read a Germany-centric fic in which all of Germany's words were in German, and it was very distracting as I am not fluent in German.)

VIZ is like, my most hated group among the English anime/manga publishing. They have ruined so much of the many series they were able to grab. I do hate their localization which starts destroying different dynamics between characters, but not only that, I find out they edit the artwork?
Hopefully, the original scanlators of manga will not stop providing scans- the sites taken down were mostly those that hosted the scans for people to easily read, so the groups are small enough they weren't contacted to cease scanlating.

I think I saw a fic with all-German dialogue, but I only know a few words so trying to make out the first sentence was too much for me, so I stopped. I REALLY need to get better. xD
It puts me out when people write character's dialogue with as many foreign words as they can, or even writing whole sentences. I won't know what they exactly said until I finish reading and see the notes.

Ack! 10 volumes behind?! I tend to believe that we have enough translating power throughout the United States to work just a little faster than that. Lordy. It's sad but shows the devotion of fans to see that unofficial fan translations work faster than the professionals. So, I don't think any scanlations are in danger-fans are too devoted for that.

Not to mention other countries. I really don't need accents to be spelled out. I could probably just imagine them on my own if I really wanted that.

Oh, but have you seen the Funimation dubs of Hetalia? As of yet... I am not a fan. Just watch the America sample where he's talking about all the Allies roles in WWII. You will understand.

And then the fans are so devoted, they manage to get the scans for Shounen Jump and put them up before the issue even hits the stands of Japan itself. @_@

I've seen a clip of the dub with Germany and Italy...
And oh god, their voices.
It's feels embarrassing watching.
