Rants, rants, rants, and a new meme I'm doing.

Today, I had the feeling of wanting to be good at something and be known for it. I want to participate in fandom much more and be a member, and make friends I can meet at conventions. Speaking of conventions, I checked out the guest list for Anime Punch this year. And, of course, Brad Swaile is going to be there AGAIN. And I really, REALLY want to meet him and get an autograph/picture/hug/HIM. He's on my list of most favorite voice actors, but of those on my imaginary list, they either 1) Don't go to Ohayocon, which is the only con I try to make sure of going to, or 2) Don't go to cons around me period. Brad Swaile goes to Anime Punch, but I haven't been to Anime Punch in like, two years. It's not a very good convention anyway but now I REALLY WANT TO GO just to meet him.
But of course, I have no money. I have no money to get a pass and then going to a con with no money to buy things kind of sucks. It really gets me that I'll never get to see him or voice actors I truly loved because Ohayocon is run by voice actors like Greg Ayres who I don't care about and can never get more than one cool voice actor every year. This makes me wish I could go to major cons like Otakon and AX, and have fun like other people do.

I KEEP RAGING ABOUT THIS. I have games for my DS like Pokemon and Animal Crossing that had always promoted about being able to connect with people by Wi-fi. I always heard about the great things people did with these features. I have these games but I can't use the Wi-fi. Why? Because Nintendo DS only uses WEP connections. I had asked my sister a few years ago what that meant, and she explained that WEP is a less secure internet connection. I can't even find any signals using WEP because seriously- who would use it?
So this makes me wish for some sort of wi-fi signal somewhere that I could ever use to have some fun. I don't even have any friends who have these games either so it's even more pathetic. I also don't really want to upgrade to a DSi, because I have a GBA game I love playing, and then it would become useless after the effort I put into getting it.

Anyways. It's Sunday. I've done basically nothing all day, but I have school work to do. I have, however, changed my profile. New little profile layout because I was unsatisfied with the last one. I realize that from now on, I have to look for one with a lot of pretty-ness to it, but not a lot of space for text- because I suck at writing any "about me" stuff. Hell, the paragraph I have now is barely anything, but that's basically all I can think of saying. o3o I like the square of icons I get to use, though. I wish I had more, but I can only have 15 icons for LJ and it's hard choosing cause I have a collection of 200 and growing I've found over the few years.

That's another thing- I haven't made any graphics- banners, icons, what-have-you- for a few months now. While I did get my desktop, I haven't used it at all. Even now, I'm on the Mac that I don't own just because I like portability. I miss my old laptop. It was portable(well, as portable as a 5-pound old Dell was) and it ran Windows- I had GIMP with me wherever I went.
Not having my own laptop is also going to suck during the summer, I realized. Shit.

I liked it when it got pretty popular last year, but I just had a refreshing new take on the song, so I've been listening to it. Everyone else probably hates it now since it played a lot last year and came out in 2009.
